One of the best things we’ve done recently is set up our advanced reader group, or Readers of the Future as we like to call them.
It is vitally important to get reviews on our new books as soon as they launch. You probably look at reviews as part of your decision making process when deciding to try a new author or rely on an old favorite. Apart from helping to persuade people to give a new writer a shot, reviews help drive early sales which, in turn, means that Amazon takes notice and starts to market on our behalf.
In order to make that happen we have a small team of Advance Readers (cue Readers of the Future). It’s simple and we think it's really fun for everyone involved. We send a copy of whatever book we’re about to finish and then, when it is published, our advanced readers write up a quick and honest review. Simple. Easy peasy.
Some members of the team have picked up errors that we’ve been able to correct and others have suggested changes to the plot that we’ve incorporated.
